The Sugar Courses inspire me. They challenge me to create wonderful flowers and arrangements. I look forward to the class every week and really miss it when they finish. “I started a Sugar Craft flower course with Louise in November 2008 after meeting her in the Sugar Craft shop where she worked. I was quite stressed in my job at the time and wanted to do something calming! Making sugar flowers is very rewarding and very soothing. When I am making my flowers my stress eases. It is a lovely thing to do and we always achieve something new in each course. This has given me the confidence to take on the task of making my daughters wedding cake this year. Something I would never have imagined I would be capable of before. “I started going to Lou's classes with my mom, I have found it extremely rewarding and enjoyable hobby. Louise is a very patient person and she is able it demonstrate and teach to people of all skill levels, and will take time to make sure everyone is comfortable and confident in what they are doing. “I used to have a very demanding job, and needed something to divert my mind away from work. Then I met Louise, and after talking to her for a short while about her courses, I realised I had found something that sounded very interesting and would give me this diversion. Since taking part in several of Louise's courses, I now look forward every week to attending these classes, as not only is Louise's instruction excellent, but the ladies attending the courses are all very interesting, and we often end up having a very pleasant evening, and quite often a somewhat hilarious one, yet still we manage to produce some beautiful flowers. “I had always wanted to do a Sugar Craft Flower course for years but never got round it, so when I heard about Louise's Sugar Craft course I was more than happy to embark upon my dream which is to create stunning Sugar Craft Flowers. Well I have not been disappointed!We have just completed the most exquisite Rose, I still can't believe that I have achieved so much over such a short period of time, and have something tangible at the end of each course. “I have been Sugar Crafting with Louise for almost 2 years. Having just started making novelty cakes for my own children I wanted to try something a bit more grown-up. I had originally intended to take just one or two courses to learn the basics, and to then teach myself from books, but I found I love the classes so much that I keep coming back. With two young children and a part-time job I find I don't have much "me" time, so I really look forward to those two hours a week where I can unleash my creativity. Everyone is so welcoming and friendly, and Louise is so patient and understanding, highly skilled and keen to share her knowledge with others. With Louise's encouragement, I have been amazed to see my cabbages transform into beautiful roses! With tips I have picked up from Louise and my classmates I have recently gained enough confidence to make my first wedding cake as a gift for a friend. “Having recently moved to the area I decided to find a Sugar Craft course that I could join to re ignite my passion for Sugar Craft and to meet new people. I saw an advert for the course that Louise was running and gave her a call. I was unable to get a place on the first course I enquired about as it was full, but Louise managed to fit me on to the next course which started in Jan 2011. The first evening I turned up I was made to feel very welcome and I now look forward to my Wednesday evenings spent with friends, creating beautiful creations with expert instruction. I have not missed one since. Wednesday evenings are a joy and I feel calm and inspired at the end of a class, and better equipped to deal with an otherwise manic and stressful week. "On the 11th February 2012 I was fortunate to be able to do the Vintage Cake workshop with Louise. From the moment I arrived I felt instantly comfortable. The workshop was extremely well thought out and taught brilliantly. I learned techniques that I had not heard of before and came home with a cake I thought I would never be able to do to such an high standard which is testiment to Louise's ability to teach and make people relaxed and to have faith in themselves. I was fortunate to be able to do the Peony class at Hurst hill community centre with Louise ,so i had a wonderful arrangement to place on top of the Vintage cake. I never for one moment believed I could make such a wonderful cake and floral arrangement. I am currently on my fifth class with Louise and consider it now part of my life. Its MY time once a week and I am thankful for Louise's patience and natural ability to teach and her friendship.
